+LANDAU Linux is an **upstream‑first fork** of the Linux kernel that fixes and extends its functionality:

+*   🔄 **Regular updates:** Following the latest Linux kernel releases (every 2+ months).
+*   📦 **Patch inclusion:** Incorporating useful work that, for various reasons, did not make it into the original Linux kernel repository (drivers, architectural improvements).
+*   🖥️ **Support for specialized hardware:** Creating a unified kernel branch as a BSP foundation for processors of various architectures (ARM, MIPS, RISC‑V, Elbrus), hardware platforms, consumer electronics, including those developed in Russia.
+*   👁️ **Transparency:** Open review process, modern CI, and collaborative testing.
+
+The project addresses current industry challenges: it preserves and evolves kernel code, fights fragmentation, and by consolidating open‑source solutions creates synergy for everyone who uses Linux as system software. In the long term, LANDAU Linux will become a reliable foundation for IP‑core developers, ODM manufacturers, distribution creators, and other ecosystem participants.
