[ Upstream commit 46840fa8c9f53b9c90db4b4be2b808bbc626cde2 ] These 4 options, PINCTRL_PIC32, PINCTRL_PIC32, PINCTRL_IPROC_GPIO, and PINCTRL_NSP_GPIO all select GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP without ensuring GPIOLIB is enabled, causing unmet dependencies, such as: WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for GPIOLIB_IRQCHIP Depends on [n]: GPIOLIB [=n] Selected by [y]: - PINCTRL_PIC32 [=y] && PINCTRL [=y] && OF [=y] && (MACH_PIC32 || COMPILE_TEST [=y]) Similar options in this subsystem select GPIOLIB, so let's do the same here. These unmet dependency bugs were found by kconfirm, a static analysis tool for Kconfig. pinctrl: bcm2835: Don't remove an unregistered GPIO chip

[ Upstream commit 32711f77db0641e57fd96fdc013bf1286b9f2514 ] If the devm_pinctrl_register() function fails, bcm2835_pinctrl_probe() calls gpiochip_remove() before gpiochip_add_data() has registered the GPIO chip. This means that upon failure the gpio_chip.gpiodev is NULL resulting in a null pointer dereference inside the gpiochip_remove() function. Remove the unnecessary function call to gpiochip_remove(). No GPIO cleanup is required because the GPIO chip has not yet been registered. The affected pinctrl drivers either check for the presence of a standard property or read a property documented with an 8-bit cell encoding. Using boolean or u32 helpers for those cases disagrees with the binding. Use a presence helper for "gpio-ranges" and read "microchip,spi-present-mask" with the u8 helper documented by the binding. pinctrl: bcm: Move MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE next to the table itself

By convention MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() immediately follows the ID table it exports, because this is easier to read and verify. It also makes more sense since #ifdef for ACPI or OF could hide both of them. Most of the pin controller drivers already have this correctly placed, so adjust the other drivers. No functional impact. Convert more 'alloc_obj' cases to default GFP_KERNEL arguments

This converts some of the visually simpler cases that have been split over multiple lines. I only did the ones that are easy to verify the resulting diff by having just that final GFP_KERNEL argument on the next line. Somebody should probably do a proper coccinelle script for this, but for me the trivial script actually resulted in an assertion failure in the middle of the script. I probably had made it a bit _too_ trivial. So after fighting that far a while I decided to just do some of the syntactically simpler cases with variations of the previous 'sed' scripts. This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union object instances: Single allocations: kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...) Array allocations: kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...) Flex array allocations: kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...) are replaced with: kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...) (where TYPE may also be *VAR) The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning "TYPE *". Signed-off-by: Kees Cook
