If tty_register_driver() fails, it drops the reference, but fails to set
the global dbc_tty_driver to NULL, causing the unregister to be called
again when module exits.

On module unload dbc_tty_exit() only gates its cleanup on the driver
pointer being non-NULL, so it operates on the already-freed driver:

<title>usb: xhci: Handle USB3 port events when there is one roothub</title>

handle_port_status() drops every USB3 port event when xhci-&gt;shared_hcd is
NULL. The check dates from a time when xhci-plat always created a shared
hcd, so a NULL one could only mean the hcd had been removed.

Since commit 4736ebd7fcaf ("usb: host: xhci-plat: omit shared hcd if
either root hub has no ports") that is no longer true. A controller whose
USB2 root hub has no ports gets a single roothub, the USB3 rhub is served
by the main hcd, and shared_hcd stays NULL for the lifetime of the device.
Every SuperSpeed port event is then thrown away as bogus behind a debug
message, so devices never enumerate even though the port sees the device
and its change bits stay set:

Broadcom Northstar is such a controller. USB3 works there up to 5.15 and
stops working from 5.19 onwards.

Ask xhci_get_usb3_hcd() instead. It returns the shared hcd when there is
one, the main hcd when the USB2 root hub has no ports, and NULL once the
shared hcd is gone, which keeps the original meaning of the check.

Tested on an Asus RT-N18U (BCM47081), which has a single roothub. Before
the change nothing enumerates on the USB3 port; after it SuperSpeed
devices enumerate normally over repeated connect and disconnect cycles,
the change bits shown above clear, and USB2 is unaffected on both ports.

The VIA VL805/806 xHCI controller advertises AC64, but fails to handle
DMA addresses at or above 0x1000000000. On systems with large amounts of
RAM, this can cause USB device failures when the controller is given DMA
addresses beyond its usable address width.

Do not use XHCI_NO_64BIT_SUPPORT for this controller. That quirk clears
the cached AC64 capability and limits DMA to 32 bits, causing unnecessary
bouncing for addresses between 4GiB and 64GiB and hiding the controller's
real AC64 capability from code that may need to distinguish register
access width from usable DMA address width.

Track the usable DMA address width separately from the AC64 capability.
Initialize the generic xhci-&gt;dma_mask_bits field to 64 and let PCI quirks
reduce it for controllers with narrower DMA support. Set VIA VL805/806 to
36 bits so the DMA API only hands it addresses in the range it can handle
while keeping HCCPARAMS1.AC64 visible.

The `max3421_hub_control()` function handles USB hub class requests
to the virtual root hub. The `GetPortStatus` case correctly rejects
requests with `index != 1`, since the virtual root hub has only a
single port. However, the `ClearPortFeature` and `SetPortFeature`
cases lack the same check.

Fix this by extending the `index != 1` rejection to both cases,
matching the existing behavior of `GetPortStatus`.

The `max3421_hub_control()` function handles USB hub class requests
to the virtual root hub. In the `default` branches of both the
`ClearPortFeature` and `SetPortFeature` switch statements, it modifies
`max3421_hcd-&gt;port_status` by left shifting 1 by the request's `value`
parameter. However, it does not validate whether this shift will exceed
the width of `port_status`.

So if a malicious userspace task with access to the root hub via
/dev/bus/usb/.../001 issues a USBDEVFS_CONTROL ioctl with `wValue`
greater than or equal to 32, the left shift operation invokes
shift-out-of-bounds undefined behavior. This results in arbitrary
bit corruption of `port_status`, including the normally-immutable
change bits, which can bypass internal state checks and confuse the
hub status.

Fix this by rejecting requests whose `value` exceeds the shift width
before performing the shift.

This issue was found using a KLEE-based symbolic execution tool for
kernel drivers that I'm currently developing.

sl811h_probe() enables the HCD controller device as a wakeup source after
usb_add_hcd() succeeds, but sl811h_remove() removes the HCD and releases
the driver resources without disabling that wakeup source.

Disable controller wakeup after usb_remove_hcd() and before usb_put_hcd()
so the wakeup source object is detached while the controller device pointer
is still available.

This issue was identified during our ongoing static-analysis research while
reviewing kernel code.

EHCI and FOTG210 isochronous submits build an ehci_iso_sched before
linking the URB to the endpoint queue, and keep the staged schedule in
urb-&gt;hcpriv until iso_stream_schedule() and the link helpers consume it.
If the controller is no longer accessible, or usb_hcd_link_urb_to_ep()
fails, submit jumps to done_not_linked before that handoff happens and
leaks the staged schedule still attached to urb-&gt;hcpriv.

Free the staged schedule from done_not_linked when submit fails before
the URB is linked and clear urb-&gt;hcpriv after the free.

The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are
developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing
v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly
available. Manual inspection confirms that the bug is still
present in v7.1.1.

An x86_64 allyesconfig build showed no new warnings. As we do not have an
EHCI host controller with a USB isochronous device to test with, no
runtime testing was able to be performed.

When a USB device with active stream endpoints is disconnected,
xhci_free_streams() is called from the hub_event workqueue to
free the stream resources.  It calls xhci_free_stream_info()
while holding xhci-&gt;lock with irqs disabled.

xhci_free_stream_info() invokes xhci_free_stream_ctx(), which
calls dma_free_coherent() for large stream context arrays.

dma_free_coherent() can sleep (e.g. via vunmap), triggering
a BUG when called from atomic context.

When a USB device is unplugged from the dual-role port, the device-mode
path in tegra_xhci_id_work() explicitly clears both SS and HS port power
via direct hub_control ClearPortFeature(POWER) calls. This preempts the
xHCI controller's normal disconnect processing -- PORT_CSC is never
generated, the USB core never sees the disconnect, and the device remains
in its internal tree as a ghost visible in lsusb.

Add an otg_set_port_power flag to control whether the dual-role switch
path performs explicit port power management. SoCs that need it
(Tegra124 / Tegra210 / Tegra186) set the flag; later SoCs (Tegra194 and
beyond) rely on the PHY mode change to handle disconnect naturally and
skip all port power calls.

Within the port power path, otg_reset_sspi additionally gates the SSPI
reset sequence on host-mode entry for SoCs that require it.

Flags set per SoC:
  Tegra124, Tegra186  -&gt; otg_set_port_power
  Tegra210            -&gt; otg_set_port_power, otg_reset_sspi
  Tegra194 and later  -&gt; (none)

  tegra-&gt;lock section, retain pm_runtime_mark_last_busy() in the host
  port-power path, and resolve context around the SoC ops/Tegra234
