<title>SUNRPC: close backchannel before destroying callback service</title>

A backchannel receive can complete a request while the NFS callback
service is being torn down.  xprt_complete_bc_request() removes the
request from bc_pa_list, drops bc_alloc_count, marks the request in use,
and then asks xprt_enqueue_bc_request() to hand it to the callback
service.

If teardown has already cleared xprt-&gt;bc_serv, xprt_enqueue_bc_request()
currently returns without enqueueing or freeing the committed request.
The xprt_get() taken on entry is leaked as well.  If the producer wins
the race before bc_serv is cleared, it can also enqueue onto sv_cb_list
after nfs_callback_down() has stopped the callback threads, leaving the
request linked to a svc_serv that is about to be freed.

Close the producer side before callback threads are stopped.  Add
xprt_svc_shutdown_bc() to clear xprt-&gt;bc_serv under bc_pa_lock, and call
it on callback shutdown and callback-start failure before stopping the
service threads.  Requests that lose the NULL transition in
xprt_enqueue_bc_request() are released through the normal backchannel
free path after balancing bc_slot_count.  Finally, drain any remaining
sv_cb_list requests after the callback threads have stopped and before
svc_destroy() frees the service.

Compiling the NFSv4 module without any minorversion support doesn't make
much sense, so this patch sets NFS v4.1 as the default, always enabled
NFS version allowing us to replace all the CONFIG_NFS_V4_1s scattered
throughout the code with CONFIG_NFS_V4.

To dynamically adjust the thread count, nfsd requires some information
about how busy things are.

Change svc_recv() to take a timeout value, and then allow the wait for
work to time out if it's set. If a timeout is not defined, then the
schedule will be set to MAX_SCHEDULE_TIMEOUT. If the task waits for the
full timeout, then have it return -ETIMEDOUT to the caller.

If it wakes up, finds that there is more work and that no threads are
available, then attempt to set SP_TASK_STARTING. If wasn't already set,
have the task return -EBUSY to cue to the caller that the service could
use more threads.

Add a new pool-&gt;sp_nrthrmin field to track the minimum number of threads
in a pool. Add min_threads parameters to both svc_set_num_threads() and
svc_set_pool_threads(). If min_threads is non-zero and less than the
max, svc_set_num_threads() will ensure that the number of running
threads is between the min and the max.

If the min is 0 or greater than the max, then it is ignored, and the
maximum number of threads will be started, and never spun down.

For now, the min_threads is always 0, but a later patch will pass the
proper value through from nfsd.

svc_set_num_threads() will set the number of running threads for a given
pool. If the pool argument is set to NULL however, it will distribute
the threads among all of the pools evenly.

These divergent codepaths complicate the move to dynamic threading.
Simplify the API by splitting these two cases into different helpers:

Add a new svc_set_pool_threads() function that sets the number of
threads in a single, given pool. Modify svc_set_num_threads() to
distribute the threads evenly between all of the pools and then call
svc_set_pool_threads() for each.

When we are shutting down the client, we free the callback
server structure and then at a later pointer we free the
transport used by the client. Yet, it's possible that after
the callback server is freed, the transport receives a
backchannel request at which point we can dereferene freed
memory. Instead, do the freeing the bc server and nullying
bc_serv under the lock.

When we are setting up the 4.1 callback server, we pass in
the appropriate rpc_xprt transport pointer with which to associate
the callback server structure. Similarly, pass in the rpc_xprt
pointer for when we are shutting down the callback. This will be
used to make sure that we free the server structure and then clear
the rpc_xprt's bc_server pointer in a safe manner.

The NFS client's NFSv4.0 callback listeners are created with
SVC_SOCK_ANONYMOUS, therefore svc_setup_socket() does not register
them with the client's rpcbind service.

And, note that nfs_callback_down_net() does not call
svc_rpcb_cleanup() at all when shutting down the callback server.

Even if svc_setup_socket() were to attempt to register or unregister
these sockets, the callback service has vs_hidden set, which shunts
the rpcbind upcalls.

The svc_rpcb_cleanup() error flow was introduced by
commit c946556b8749 ("NFS: move per-net callback thread
initialization to nfs_callback_up_net()"). It doesn't appear in the
code that was relocated by that commit.

Therefore, there is no need to call svc_rpcb_cleanup() when listener
creation fails during callback server start-up.
