'uuid_count' member of struct 'discovery_state' is assigned and read
without any locks, so there is a chance of situation when
uuid_count != 0, but uuids is NULL and there will be NULL pointer
dereference.

Possible race:

Now uuids == NULL and uuid_count != 0.
So 'mgmt_device_found' -&gt; 'is_filter_match' -&gt; 'eir_has_uuids' receives
non consistent discovery state, where NULL dereference of uuids happens.

To fix it let's add discovery.lock around every read/write of uuid_count,
uuids pair of struct members. It is also important to assign uuid_count
value only after success kmemdup() allocation in
start_service_discovery(), otherwise uuids is NULL, because kmemdup failed,
but uuid_count is already assigned to non zero value.

mgmt_hci_cmd_sync() checks that the message length agrees with params_len
but puts no upper bound on it. params_len is __le16 while the parameter
length in the HCI command header is a u8:

hci_cmd_sync_alloc() assigns one to the other:

	hdr-&gt;plen = plen;

	if (plen)
		skb_put_data(skb, param, plen);

so a params_len of 256 leaves plen at 0 while all 256 bytes are still
appended. The frame handed to the driver then declares no parameters and
carries 256 of them. On a length framed transport such as H:4 the
controller takes the trailing bytes as the start of the next packet.

The mgmt socket MTU is HCI_MAX_FRAME_SIZE, so params_len can reach about
1KB this way. Commit 03f1700b9b4d ("Bluetooth: MGMT: reject malformed
HCI_CMD_SYNC commands") only made params_len agree with the message
length, a value that fits the message but not the header field is still
accepted.

Reject params_len that does not fit the header field.

callback, so it is only freed if send_hci_cmd_sync() runs. A cancelled
entry is leaked, as _hci_cmd_sync_cancel_entry() does not release
entry-&gt;data when there is no destroy callback, and hci_cmd_sync_clear()
cancels every pending entry when the controller is unregistered. Nothing
else reclaims it either: mgmt_pending_new() does not put the command on
hdev-&gt;mgmt_pending.

The leak also pins the socket reference taken by mgmt_pending_new(), so
the mgmt socket is never released.

Free the command from a destroy callback. The now-empty done label is
replaced by a direct return.

Add context analysis annotations for hci_conn::l2cap_data locking.

Also add necessary lockdep_assert_held() and __must_hold annotations
to prove the access is safe.

The access in smp_conn_security() is supposed to be guarded by the
caller holding lock that blocks concurrent l2cap_conn_del() eg.
hdev-&gt;lock, conn-&gt;lock or chan-&gt;lock. Mark unsafe as can't be
automatically checked now.

Add MGMT_OP_LOAD_CONN_SUBRATE (0x005C) command to load per-device
connection subrate parameters when the SCI feature is supported.

Add MGMT_EV_CONN_SUBRATE (0x0033) event to notify userspace when
connection rate changes occur via the LE Connection Rate Change HCI
event.

Add subrate fields (subrate_min, subrate_max, max_latency, cont_num)
to struct hci_conn_params to store the loaded subrate parameters, and
the corresponding le_rate_* fields to struct hci_conn to track the
parameters currently in use.

When a single entry is loaded for an already-connected central, or on
connection completion, the LE Connection Rate Request procedure is
initiated to apply the parameters.

Add MGMT_SETTING_SCI (bit 25) to advertise support for the Shorter
Connection Interval (SCI) feature. It is reported in the supported
settings whenever the controller is SCI capable, and in the current
settings whenever LE is enabled and the controller is SCI capable
(SCI has no separate enable command, so it is a passive capability).

MGMT_OP_SET_LOCAL_NAME is handled asynchronously on powered controllers
and can run set_name_sync().  When the controller is BR/EDR capable,
set_name_sync() updates the local name and then rebuilds EIR data through
eir_create().  The EIR builder walks hdev-&gt;uuids, but the UUID list can
be changed and entries can be freed by MGMT_OP_ADD_UUID and
MGMT_OP_REMOVE_UUID.

pending_eir_or_class() is meant to serialize management commands that
can change EIR or the class of device, but it did not include
MGMT_OP_SET_LOCAL_NAME.  In addition, it walked hdev-&gt;mgmt_pending
without hdev-&gt;mgmt_pending_lock even though pending commands are added
and removed under that mutex.  A racing command completion can therefore
remove and free a pending command while pending_eir_or_class() is still
inspecting it, leading to a use-after-free in the pending-command list or
allowing a local name update to rebuild EIR while UUID entries are being
removed.

Take hdev-&gt;mgmt_pending_lock while scanning hdev-&gt;mgmt_pending and treat
MGMT_OP_SET_LOCAL_NAME as an EIR/class-affecting pending command on the
powered asynchronous path.  Check for a conflicting pending command before
copying the new short name so a rejected SET_LOCAL_NAME request does not
modify hdev-&gt;short_name.

The pairing completion and authentication failure callbacks look up the
pending MGMT_OP_PAIR_DEVICE command by walking hdev-&gt;mgmt_pending. The
lookup returned a command that was still linked on the shared pending list,
without keeping mgmt_pending_lock held for the later dereference and
removal.

A concurrent MGMT_OP_CANCEL_PAIR_DEVICE request can remove and free the
same pending command before the callback uses it. The reverse race is also
possible when cancel_pair_device() gets a command from pending_find() and a
callback removes it before the cancel path dereferences it. This can lead
to a use-after-free and a second list_del().

Make the pairing lookup helpers transfer ownership of the pending command
by removing it from hdev-&gt;mgmt_pending while holding mgmt_pending_lock.
The callbacks and cancel path then complete the command and free it
directly, so racing paths cannot find or free the same command again. Take
a temporary hci_conn reference in cancel_pair_device() because the command
completion drops the reference stored in the pending command.

MGMT_EV_DEVICE_DISCONNECTED carries a reason field which is defined to
be one of MGMT_DEV_DISCONN_* (0x00..0x05). hci_disconn_complete_evt()
converts the HCI error with hci_to_mgmt_reason(), but two other paths
pass the raw HCI error straight through:

  hci_cs_disconnect()   -&gt; cp-&gt;reason
  mgmt_connect_failed() -&gt; status

The latter is reached whenever the adapter is powered off or suspended:
hci_disconnect_all_sync() aborts every link with
HCI_ERROR_REMOTE_POWER_OFF, hci_disconnect_sync() deliberately does not
wait for HCI_EV_DISCONN_COMPLETE for that reason, so that
hci_abort_conn_sync() finishes the connection off through
hci_conn_failed() instead.

As a result userspace sees an out of range reason:

Export hci_to_mgmt_reason() and use it in both places, so that a power
off is reported as MGMT_DEV_DISCONN_REMOTE rather than as the raw
HCI_ERROR_REMOTE_POWER_OFF (0x15).
