Add the rvgen kunit subcommand to patch an already generated monitor for
kunit support. It parses the handlers and create the necessary structs
and initialisations.
The only remaining manual steps are importing the test in the runner
and writing the test itself.

The rvgen code generator needs validation to ensure it produces correct
monitor implementations from input specifications.
Add selftests with golden reference outputs covering all monitor classes
(DA, HA, LTL) and types (global, per_cpu, per_task, per_obj), including
optional features like descriptions and parent monitors. Container
generation and error handling (missing files, invalid specifications,
missing arguments) are also validated against expected output.

folder. Those can be used as reference to validate rvgen still generates
files as expected in automated tests.

wake_all used EXPECT_EQ(0, objs[3]) after NTSYNC_IOC_CREATE_EVENT.
The ioctl returns a non-negative file descriptor on success; check
EXPECT_LE(0, objs[3]) like the other CREATE_* paths. The incorrect
expectation was noted on list (Mar 2025) but is still present in
mainline.

The rv tool needs automated testing to catch regressions and verify
correct functionality across different usage scenarios.
Add selftests that validate monitor listing (including containers and
nested monitors), monitor execution with different configurations
(reactors, verbose output, tracing), and trace output format for both
per-task and per-cpu monitors. Error handling paths are also tested.
Tests use a shared engine for common patterns.

Template files for rvgen had minor inconsistencies in their
placeholders for default author and default tracepoint examples. The
user needs to modify those anyway but keeping consistency may help in
bulk editing or checking.
Change default author from "dot2k: auto-generated" (for DA/containers)
or /* TODO */ (for LTL) to the general "rvgen: auto-generated".
Align the sample tracepoint handler name in LTL template to
handle_example_event, consistently with the rest of the file.

The RVGenerator class can find the RV directory (kernel/trace/rv) in the
kernel tree to do some auto patching. This works by assuming PWD is
either the kernel tree or tools/verification, which isn't always the
case (e.g. when running from selftests).
Make discovery more robust by relying on the absolute path of the
current script and traversing backwards the right number of times.
This should work from any location if rvgen is in the kernel tree.

When running "rv mon" on a monitor that is already enabled, the tool
fails to start but incorrectly exits with a success status (0).
Fix the exit condition to ensure it returns a failure code on any
execution error. Also use the standard EXIT_SUCCESS/EXIT_FAILURE macros
throughout the file.

While the GCC and Clang compilers already define __ASSEMBLER__
automatically when compiling assembly code, __ASSEMBLY__ is a
macro that only gets defined by the Makefiles in the kernel.
This can be very confusing when switching between userspace
and kernelspace coding, or when dealing with uapi headers that
rather should use __ASSEMBLER__ instead. So let's standardize now
on the __ASSEMBLER__ macro that is provided by the compilers.
This is a completely mechanical patch (done with a simple "sed -i"
statement).

In setup_namespace(), f_mountinfo is opened with fopen() at line 115
but is never closed. Multiple ksft_exit_fail_msg() calls exit the
program without closing this file descriptor, and the cleanup_namespace()
function registered with atexit() also doesn't close it.
Add fclose(f_mountinfo) in cleanup_namespace() to ensure the file
descriptor is properly closed on both normal and error exit paths,
since cleanup_namespace() is already registered as an atexit handler.

Add a test for the two stage-2 granularity changes dirty logging forces
at fault time, asserting the guest completes with no KVM_RUN error. The
first scenario collapses a page into a hugetlb-backed block: it writes
under logging, re-write-protects the page via GET_DIRTY_LOG, then writes
again with logging off. The second splits blocks: it faults in several
non-executable 2M blocks, enables logging, then executes in each block so
an execute permission fault splits it. It is skipped when CTR_EL0.DIC is
set, since mappings are then executable and no execute fault occurs.
Both paths make the fault handler allocate under mmu_lock, so a backend
that fails to stage that memory returns a KVM_RUN error or crashes the
host. The property holds on any host. On a pKVM host, where a
non-protected guest uses the pkvm_pgtable_*() backend, it also guards
that backend's fault-time staging.

debug-exceptions covers guest self-hosted debug and userspace
single-step, but not a userspace (KVM_GUESTDBG_USE_HW) watchpoint,
whose KVM_EXIT_DEBUG reports the accessed address in debug.arch.far.
Add a test that installs a host-directed write watchpoint and checks
that the reported address matches the accessed variable.

Introduce a new field pmmir_slots in struct kvm_arch to store
PMMIR_EL1.SLOTS. It only saves the actual hardware PMU value when
the VMM explicitly selects a PMU under KVM_ARM_VCPU_PMU_V3_STRICT.
Otherwise, it stays 0 after allocation.
Use this field to implement guest access, userspace get, and userspace
set for PMMIR_EL1:
- access_pmmir(): uses the value in kvm->arch.pmmir_slots directly. If
the VMM selected a PMU and KVM_ARM_VCPU_PMU_V3_STRICT is set, the guest
can correctly read the underlying core's SLOTS. Otherwise, it continues
to read 0 since the true SLOTS value can be nondeterministic.
- get_pmmir(): same as access_pmmir().
- set_pmmir(): only the SLOTS field is writable; a value setting any
other bit is rejected with -EINVAL, since get_pmmir() returns SLOTS
zero-extended. A value of 0 resets kvm->arch.pmmir_slots to 0 for
backward compatibility, as the register is RAZ in older KVM, a value
matching the current SLOTS is accepted as a no-op, and anything else is
rejected with -EINVAL. Once the VM has run PMMIR_EL1 is immutable, so a
mismatching write then returns -EBUSY.
The register is now exposed via KVM_GET_REG_LIST for PMUv3 vCPUs, so add
it to the get-reg-list selftest's PMU register list.

search_pattern() copies a regex capture into caller-provided buffers
without knowing their sizes. Several callers pass fixed-size buffers,
including FIELD_BUFF and TASK_COMM_LEN.
Pass the destination size to search_pattern(), reject captures that do not
fit before copying them, and terminate the output string inside
search_pattern().

add_list() allocates comm and txt for each page owner record, but the
cleanup path only frees the outer list array. This leaks both buffers for
every retained record.
Free partial allocations in add_list(), discarded records during culling,
and retained records on exit.

Non-cooperarive uffd events are inherently racy and can happen in parallel
with other userfaultfd operations.
During event tests in uffd-unit-tests, the uffd monitor calls
UFFDIO_UNREGISTER upon receiving UFFD_EVENT_REMOVE.
In parallel, the faulting_process() verifies that the removed memory is
actually zeroed.
If a verification read wins the race with UFFDIO_UNREGISTER, it causes a
missing fault that uffd monitor would receive after UFFDIO_UNREGISTER is
complete. The monitor resolves the fault using UFFDIO_COPY that fails
with -ENOENT which means that VMA has been changed (see commit
27d02568f529 ("userfaultfd: mcopy_atomic: return -ENOENT when no
compatible VMA found")).
Treat -ENOENT returned by UFFDIO_COPY as non-fatal, the same way -EEXIST
is treated for concurrent faults, and don't fail the test.

Passing a stack-local child_pid to clone() with CLONE_CHILD_CLEARTID is
unsafe: the kernel clears that address when the child exits, which may
happen after the test function has returned and the stack slot has been
reused.
Neither testcase uses the settid/cleartid pointers for synchronization.
Drop CLONE_PARENT_SETTID and CLONE_CHILD_CLEARTID and pass NULL for the
clone tid arguments. Wait for the clone child to exit via tkill in
test_sigsegv_handler_with_different_pkey_for_stack(), matching
test_pkru_sigreturn(), so the detached thread cannot overlap with the next
testcase.

Use pkey_assert(0) instead of perror("clone") when clone_raw() fails. The
old path only printed an error and continued; the test now exits via
pkey_assert() on failure so it does not hang or proceed with an invalid
child.

Add per-test tracing to the pkey signal-handler selftest and use
pkey_assert() for error handling. Each test enables tracing at start and
disables it at end; on failure, pkey_assert() calls abort_hooks() to turn
tracing off so ftrace is not left enabled.

Patch series "selftests/mm: refactor pkey helpers and fix mmap error
handling", v10.
The main changes in this series are to refactor shared tracing and
assertion helpers into a common file, unify both pkey selftests on
pkey_assert() and per-test tracing for consistent diagnostics, and add
missing mmap() return checks with MAP_FAILED used throughout for
readability and consistency.
This patch (of 10):
Move pkey selftest debugging helpers into shared code so both pkey
selftests can use the same tracing and abort-hook logic. Also fix
cat_into_file() to print file, not str, in the open() failure message.

DAMON sysfs interface for DAMOS quota has quite extended since its initial
introduction. The test case for that in DAMON sysfs interface essential
file operations test (sysfs.sh) has not accordingly extended, though.
Extend the test case to test all existing files.

DAMON sysfs essential file operations test (sysfs.sh) was extended to test
DAMON probes sysfs directory, by commit 14885da09b0f
("selftests/damon/sysfs.sh: test probes dir"). Unlike other DAMON sysfs
files, it is testing only a single directory case. Extend it for multiple
directories.

Add coverage for the new per-nexthop VXLAN destination port
(NHA_DST_PORT).
In fib_nexthops.sh, new ipv4_fdb_port_fcnal() and ipv6_fdb_port_fcnal()
tests check that a dst_port is accepted on an fdb nexthop that has a
gateway and echoed back on dump, that it is rejected without a gateway
and rejected when zero, that a group may hold legs that differ only in
UDP port, and that a portless fdb nexthop omits the attribute. The
tests SKIP when iproute2 lacks the "dst_port" keyword.
In test_vxlan_nh.sh, basic_tx_common() gains a second fdb nexthop group
whose nexthop carries a destination port that differs from the VXLAN
device default, plus a flower filter keyed on that port, to confirm the
per-nexthop port is used on the wire. The test now requires an iproute2
with dst_port support.

A kfunc may be listed in several BTF ID sets, which is expected
because different kfuncs are available to BPF programs depending on
their type.
However kfunc flags across different BTF ID sets must be consistent [1].
The flags should be considered a part of the kfunc declaration,
because they influence its BTF representation and verifier handling.
Enforce the kfunc flag consistency in resolve_btifds by hard failing
on error and blocking kernel (or module) build.

collect_kfuncs() currently uses bpf_kfunc decl tags to identify the
list of kfuncs. The decl tags are generated by pahole, which makes
current implementation implicitly rely on those tags being generated.
The authoritative source, used by the the BPF verifier for kfunc
registration, of functions being BPF kfuncs are
BTF_KFUNCS_START()/END() declarations. These are BTF_ID_SET8 under the
hood. Currently resolve_btfids reads kfunc flags from these sets, and
populates them with BTF IDs.
Implement kfunc discovery from BTF_ID_SET8 symbols in resolve_btfids,
removing the dependency on pahole's emmission of decl tags.
Walk BTF_ID_KIND_SET8 sets, and use the address-to-symbol index to
look up set entry's BTF_ID symbol name (before .BTF_ids is patched),
recording the paired flags directly. This makes find_kfunc_flags()
helper unnecessary, so it's removed.

process_kfunc_with_implicit_args() skips generating <name>_impl
function when one already exists for backwards compatibility.
It uses btf__find_by_name_kind(), which searches the base BTF before
the split BTF. When resolve_btfids processes a module, a same-named
_impl in vmlinux would be found and the module's own counterpart would
not be created.
Fix by using btf__find_by_name_kind_own() for the lookup.

btf__find_by_name_kind() searches the base BTF before the split BTF,
so in case of a name collision between base and split it always
returns a base type. Tools that process split BTF may need to restrict
a lookup to the split's own types.
The internal helper btf__find_by_name_kind_own() already does exactly
that. Make it a public API.

Store collected kfuncs in a rbtree keyed by BTF ID instead of a
dynamically grown array. This allows for efficient deduplication for
kfuncs declared in multiple sets, which is needed for subsequent
patches [1].

Keep an address-sorted index of parsed .BTF_ids symbols so that the
original BTF_ID symbol name can be recovered from an entry address.
Use the index in find_kfunc_flags() to scan BTF_SET8_KFUNCS entries
directly and match each entry back to the requested kfunc.

Commit fc4eb486a59d ("selftests/zram: Skip max_comp_streams
interface on newer kernel") added kernel_gte() to zram_lib.sh.
The function uses the bash-specific [[ ... ]] conditional, but
zram selftests source this file while running under /bin/sh.
On systems where /bin/sh is dash, such as Debian, the following

The system call can clobber the ctr and xer registers.
Make sure the compiler takes this into account.
The missing clobbers only seem to be an issue with newer compilers.

Test that setsockopt PACKET_IGNORE_OUTGOING:
- works with valid values (0 and 1),
- rejects values outside of that range, and
When enabled for a loopback sniffer, it only produces 1 copy of the
packet (rx) instead of two copies (tx and rx). Use sll_pkttype to check
the direction of the packet to ensure the correct packet is sniffed.
