Convert the Kconfig option of every MediaTek pinctrl SoC driver from bool
to tristate and add MODULE_DESCRIPTION()/MODULE_LICENSE() so that they can
be built as loadable kernel modules.
This is required for Android GKI + vendor_dlkm deployments, where
vendor-specific drivers must be kept separate from the GKI vmlinux and
loaded as modules from the vendor partition.

The MT7986 driver registers two separate platform drivers (mt7986a and
mt7986b) and used to call arch_initcall() twice, once for each.
This is fine while the driver is built-in, but a single translation unit
can only provide one module_init(). Since arch_initcall() expands to
module_init() when built as a module, having two of them would break the
module build with a redefinition of init_module()/__inittest().
Fold both platform drivers into a single driver array and register them
from one initcall using platform_register_drivers(), matching the shape of
the other MediaTek pinctrl SoC drivers. platform_register_drivers() also
rolls back the first registration if the second one fails.
No functional change for built-in builds; this is a preparatory cleanup
for enabling module builds.

The MediaTek SoC pinctrl drivers link against the shared implementations
in pinctrl-mtk-common.c (v1), pinctrl-moore.c and pinctrl-mtmips.c. These
were built-in only: their Kconfig symbols were bool, they did not export
their entry points and they carried no MODULE_LICENSE().
To let the individual SoC drivers be built as loadable modules (required
for Android GKI + vendor_dlkm, where vendor drivers must live outside the
GKI vmlinux), the shared code they depend on has to be modular too.
Otherwise selecting a SoC driver as =m forces the common symbol to =y and
the resulting module fails to link against the unexported common entry
points.
Convert PINCTRL_MTK, PINCTRL_MTK_MOORE and PINCTRL_MTK_MTMIPS to
tristate, export the entry points used by the SoC drivers, and add
MODULE_DESCRIPTION()/MODULE_LICENSE() to the three common files.
The v2 common code (PINCTRL_MTK_V2) is already modular, but mtk_rmw() was
never exported. It is called directly by SoC drivers such as mt7623, so
export it as well to keep those drivers linking once they are modular.
Rather than exporting these shared symbols into the global namespace,
export them in the "MTK_PINCTRL" symbol namespace with
EXPORT_SYMBOL_NS_GPL() so they are only visible to drivers that opt in.
Each SoC driver that uses them therefore declares
MODULE_IMPORT_NS("MTK_PINCTRL").

mtk_eint_do_init() creates an IRQ domain, populates it with a mapping for
every EINT line and installs a chained handler on the parent interrupt,
but none of these are ever released. This was harmless while the drivers
were built-in, but now that they can be built as modules and
unbound/rmmod'd it leaves behind a dangling IRQ domain, interrupt mappings
whose chip data points at freed memory, and a chained handler that keeps
firing into that freed data.
The plain allocations in mtk_eint_do_init() already use the device-managed
devm_*() helpers, so tear the remaining resources down the same way:
register a devm action that detaches the chained handler, waits for any
in-flight handler to finish, disposes of the per-line mappings and removes
the IRQ domain. This mirrors the device-managed lifecycle adopted for the
GPIO chip and keeps the whole EINT setup self-cleaning on unbind.

The gpio_chip is allocated with device-managed memory but registered with
the non-managed gpiochip_add_data(). This was harmless while the drivers
were built-in, but once they can be built as modules and unbound/rmmod'd,
devm frees the gpio_chip's memory while it is still registered, causing a
use-after-free.
Register it with devm_gpiochip_add_data() so it shares the same
device-managed lifecycle, which also lets the manual gpiochip_remove()
error paths go away.

pinctrl_gpio_direction_input() / pinctrl_gpio_direction_output() take
the pinctrl mutex. This causes a gpiochip operations to need to sleep.
Worse yet, the .can_sleep field in the gpiochip is not set. This causes
the shared GPIO proxy to trip over, as it uses gpiod_cansleep() to check
whether it can use a spinlock or needs a mutex. In this case, it ends
up taking a spinlock, then calls pinctrl_gpio_direction_output(), which
takes a mutex. This causes a huge warning.
Since the Mediatek hardware has separate clear/set registers, there is
no risk of clobbering other bits like with a read-modify-write pattern.
Also, once the GPIO function is selected / muxed in, further GPIO
operations do not involve pinctrl operations or state. The GPIO direction
and level values do not require toggling the pinmux or any other pin config
options.
Switch to directly calling mtk_pmx_gpio_set_direction() in the GPIO set
direction callbacks to avoid taking the pinctrl mutex. Drop the
.gpio_set_direction field in mtk_pmx_ops to signal we are no longer using
the pinctrl GPIO layer for setting the direction.

mtk_eint_do_init() allocates several pointer arrays which are then
populated in a per-instance loop and freed on error. The arrays are
currently allocated with devm_kmalloc(), so their entries are left
uninitialised until the per-instance allocations succeed.
On a failure in the middle of the loop, the error path iterates over
the full nbase range and calls devm_kfree() on each element. For
indices which were never initialised, the corresponding array entries
contain stack garbage. If any of those happen to be non-zero,
devm_kfree() will pass them to devres_destroy(), which will WARN
because there is no matching devm_kmalloc() resource for such bogus
pointers.
Improve the robustness and readability by:
- Using devm_kcalloc() for the pointer arrays so that all entries
start as NULL, ensuring that only genuinely initialised elements
may be freed and preventing spurious WARN_ON()s in the error path.
- Switching the allocations to sizeof(*ptr) / sizeof(**ptr) forms,
avoiding hard-coded element types and making the code more resilient
to future type changes.
- Dropping the redundant NULL checks before devm_kfree(), as
devm_kfree() safely handles NULL pointers.
The functional behaviour in the successful initialisation path remains
unchanged, while the error handling becomes simpler and less
error-prone.

In mt8189-pinctrl driver, a previous commit changed the register base
name array (mt8189_pinctrl_register_base_names) entry name and order to
align it with the same name and order as the "mediatek,mt8189-pinctrl"
devicetree bindings. The new order (by ascending register address) now
causes an issue with MT8189 pinctrl configuration.
MT8189 SoC has multiple base addresses for the pin configuration
registers. Several constant data structures, declaring each pin
configuration, are using PIN_FIELD_BASE() macro which i_base parameter
indicates for a given pin the lookup index in the base register address
array of the driver internal data for the configuration register
read/write accesses. But in practice, this parameter is given a
hardcoded numerical value that corresponds to the expected base
register entry index in mt8189_pinctrl_register_base_names array.
Since this array reordering, the i_base index matching is no more
correct.
So, in order to avoid modifying over a thousand of PIN_FIELD_BASE()
calls, restore previous mt8189_pinctrl_register_base_names entry order.

Inner function will base the values on the pinctrl priv struct instead of
relying on hardcoded struct.

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-pinctrl
Pull pin control updates from Linus Walleij:
"We have GPIO awareness in the pin control core and an interesting
AAEON driver.
Core changes:
- Allow pins to be identified/marked as GPIO mode with a special
callback.
The pin controller core is now "aware" if a pin is in GPIO mode if
the callback is implemented in the driver, and can thus be marked
as "strict", i.e. disallowing simultaneous use of a line as GPIO
and another function such as I2C.
This is enabled in the Qualcomm TLMM driver and also implemeted
from day 1 in the new Broadcom STB driver
- Rename the pin config option PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT to PIN_CONFIG_LEVEL
to better describe what the config is doing, as well as making it
more intuitive what shall be returned when reading this property
New drivers:
- Qualcomm SDM660 LPASS LPI TLMM pin controller subdriver
- Qualcomm Glymur family pin controller driver
- Broadcom STB family pin controller driver
- Tegra186 pin controller driver
- AAEON UP pin controller support.
This is some special pin controller that works as an external
advanced line MUX and amplifier for signals from an Intel SoC. A
cooperative effort with the GPIO maintainer was needed to reach a
solution where we reuse code from the GPIO aggregator/forwarder
driver
- Renesas RZ/T2H and RZ/N2H pin controller support
- Axis ARTPEC-8 subdriver for the Samsung pin controller driver
Improvements:
- Output enable (OEN) support in the Renesas RZG2L driver
- Properly support bias pull up/down in the pinctrl-single driver
- Move over all GPIO portions using generic MMIO GPIO to the new
generic GPIO chip management which has a nice and separate API
- Proper DT bindings for some older Broadcom SoCs
- External GPIO (EGPIO) support in the Qualcomm SM8250
Deleted code:
- Dropped the now unused Samsung S3C24xx drivers"

With further testing with an attached Aeonsemi it was discovered that
the pinctrl MDIO function applied the wrong bitmask. The error was
probably caused by the confusing documentation related to these bits.
Inspecting what the bootloader actually configure, the SGMII_MDIO_MODE
is never actually set but instead it's set force enable to the 2 GPIO
(gpio 1-2) for MDC and MDIO pin.
The usage of GPIO might be confusing but this is just to instruct the
SoC to not mess with those 2 PIN and as Benjamin reported it's also an
Errata of 7581. The FORCE_GPIO_EN doesn't set them as GPIO function
(that is configured by a different register) but it's really to actually
""enable"" those lines.
Normally the SoC should autodetect this by HW but it seems AN7581 have
problem with this and require this workaround to force enable the 2 pin.
Applying this configuration permits correct functionality of any
externally attached PHY.

This wasn't notice as there were no board that made use of the

value should be LED1_MODE_MASK similar to the other GPIO entry.

This generic pin config property is confusingly named so let's
rename it to make things clearer.
There are already drivers in the tree that use PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT
to *read* the value of an output driven pin, which is a big
semantic confusion for the head: are we then reading the
setting of the output or the actual value/level that is put
out on the pin?
We already have PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT_ENABLE that turns on driver
buffers for output, so this can by logical conclusion only
drive the voltage level if it should be any different.
But if we read the pin, are we then reading the *setting* of
the output value or the *actual* value we can see on the
line?
If the pin has not first been set into output mode with
PIN_CONFIG_OUTPUT_ENABLE, but is instead in some input mode
or tristate, what will reading this property actually
return?
Reading the current users reading this property it is clear
that what we read is the logical level of the pin as 0 or 1
depending on if it is low or high.
Rename it to PIN_CONFIG_LEVEL so it is crystal clear that
we set or read the voltage level of the pin and nothing else.

We currently duplicate the entire struct pinfunction object in
pinmux_generic_add_pinfunction(). While this is inevitable when the
arguments come in split through pinmux_generic_add_function(), users of
pinmux_generic_add_pinfunction() will typically pass addresses of
structures in .rodata, meaning we can try to avoid the duplication with
the help from kmemdup_const(). To that end: don't wrap the entire struct
pinfunction in struct function_desc but rather just store the address.
