git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/xiang/erofs
Pull erofs updates from Gao Xiang:
"The most impactful fix here is to disable LZ4 rolling decompression
for now.
AWS folks recently found their systems could get corrupted data with
some rare, specific LZ4 datasets, and after a deeper analysis, I found
the root cause is that there could be uncontrolled backward memory
copies in the current LZ4 implementation and it breaks the assumption
of the rolling decompression optimization, since the kernel LZ4
codebase is out of our control and it needs more time to plan how to
do next, so disable LZ4 rolling decompression for now to ensure data
correctness for real production on these rare cases first. The
technical details also see the corresponding commit.
Other changes are random minor fixes.
Summary:
- Disable LZ4 rolling decompression for now due to the uncontrolled
LZ4 implementation
- Fix missing sysfs feature entry for xattr prefixes
- Fix invalid LZMA decoders on resize failure
- Rearrange the inode_share cache key to avoid potential collisions
- Fix erofs_bread() when fsoffset is used on sub-page-block EROFS
filesystems"

Pull RISC-V fixes from Paul Walmsley:
"From a RISC-V point of view, there's one notable fix here, reverting
an earlier bogus fix to the pointer masking code. Fortunately the
practical impact appears to be small.
- Revert a bad fix, likely LLM-generated, in the pointer masking code
that confused the RISC-V hardware pointer masking implementation
with the Linux kernel tagged address feature
- Fix unexpected faults caused by kprobe instruction slot writes when
!CONFIG_STRICT_MODULE_RWX
- Fix unexpected faults on minimal configurations during runtime code
patching on !CONFIG_STRICT_MODULE_RWX systems
- Fix a misplaced variable clear causing incorrect reuse of previous
values in the RISC-V hardware feature probing code
- Fix two bugs in the PMU SBI perf code on rv32: use BIT_ULL rather
than BIT on 64-bit masks; and use a bitmap rather than an unsigned
long on a quantity that can exceed 32 bits
And a few miscellaneous cleanups:
- Avoid a potential dereference-before-NULL-pointer-check bug in the
PMU SBI perf driver
- Use CONFIG_GENERIC_BUG_RELATIVE_POINTERS to simplify the rv32 bug
table code (like x86 and PPC)
- Report the RISC-V standard ISA extensions Z[v]fhmin when support is
claimed for the superset RISC-V standard ISA extensions Z[v]fh; and
simplify our FPU test code to only check for the presence of the D
extension
- Use an existing kernel string helper in place of some open-coded
code in kernel/usercfi.c
- Fix some yamllint issues in the RISC-V DT bindings for CPUs
- Convert one use of __ASSEMBLY__ to __ASSEMBLER__ that snuck into
the RISC-V CFI selftest code
- Update the translation for the simplified Chinese translation of
the RISC-V kernel patch acceptance policy"

Add the SoC-specific compatible string and use the generic one as fallback
for the UltraRISC DP1000 SPI controller.
The DP1000 integrates two SPI controllers. SPI0 supports standard, dual
and quad transfers with three native chip-select signals. SPI1 supports
standard transfers with four native chip-select signals.
Both controllers have one register range and separate reference and APB
interface clocks.

The hwmon core provides hwmon_notify_event() for drivers to report events
such as alarm or fault conditions to userspace via sysfs notifications
and uevents, as well as to the thermal subsystem for temperature sensors.
However, this function is not documented in the hwmon kernel API guide.
Add the function prototype and description of hwmon_notify_event() to
Documentation/hwmon/hwmon-kernel-api.rst.

Commit 8d75c338f0bc ("sysctl: remove CONFIG_PROC_SYSCTL, it just mirrors
CONFIG_SYSCTL") removed CONFIG_PROC_SYSCTL, but the sysctl added by
commit 5b6e32ba7b59 ("syscall_user_dispatch: Add
kernel.syscall_user_dispatch sysctl") is still guarded by it. Now that
both commits are merged, kernel.syscall_user_dispatch is no longer
registered.
syscall_user_dispatch_allowed defaults to true. SUD therefore remains
available, but administrators cannot disable new activations.
Use CONFIG_SYSCTL for the guard and documentation.

rtnl_create_link() assigns IFLA_TXQLEN directly to dev->tx_queue_len
without going through netif_change_tx_queue_len(), so a device created
with "ip link add ... txqueuelen 500000" bypasses the S16_MAX cap and
still triggers the oversized ring allocations in pfifo_fast, tun and
tap. The veth peer nest (rtnl_nla_parse_ifinfomsg()) and the
RTM_NEWLINK-on-existing-device path reach the same sinks.
Enforce the cap in ifla_policy instead: IFLA_TXQLEN becomes
NLA_POLICY_FULL_RANGE(NLA_U32, &txqlen_range) with
txqlen_range = { .min = 0, .max = S16_MAX }. All netlink consumers
parse against this policy - rtnl_setlink(), rtnl_newlink() (create
and change), and the veth peer nest - so every netlink path is capped
at parse time and rejects the attribute with -ERANGE plus a proper
"integer out of range" extack message before any device state is
modified (the RTM_SETLINK half-application wart is gone with it).
Document the bound in the rt-link.yaml netlink spec.
Conditions to recreate the bug:
- CONFIG_NET_SCHED=y, CONFIG_VETH=y, CONFIG_USER_NS=y, CONFIG_NET_NS=y.
- Unprivileged user in a fresh user+net namespace (unshare -Urn):
ip link add v0 txqueuelen 500000 type veth peer name v1
-> on the fixed kernel this is rejected with -ERANGE ("integer out
of range" extack) instead of installing an oversized tx_queue_len
that later inflates pfifo_fast/tun/tap ring allocations.
- ip link set v0 txqueuelen 500000 is likewise rejected at parse time.

The v1 soft limit has been deprecated since v6.12 and nobody has reported
depending on it. Start the removal by decoupling the interface from the
implementation: keep memory.soft_limit_in_bytes, but ignore writes to it
and always report the maximum value on read similar to what
memory.kmem.limit_in_bytes already does.
Writes are still parsed, so malformed input keeps returning -EINVAL. The
knob now also behaves the same everywhere: it used to return -EOPNOTSUPP
on PREEMPT_RT, where soft limit reclaim has always been disabled.
This also fixes the syzbot report linked below. Soft limit reclaim is the
only caller that runs shrink_lruvec() from kswapd against a specific
memcg, so it is the only way to reach lru_gen_shrink_lruvec() and in turn
set_mm_walk(), which warns when called from kswapd.

IMA measurement of a configfs file causes process_measurement() to hold
iint->mutex while performing a kernel_read() to hash it, which re-enters
configfs's own file locking (buffer->mutex, frag_sem).
Separately, opening any file with O_TRUNC now causes ima_file_truncate()
to take iint->mutex to reset the cached action flags, while sb_writers is
already held for that mount.
When a configfs-backed nvmet namespace is involved, these two independent
lock chains combine into a cycle:
iint->mutex -> configfs locks -> subsys->lock -> sb_writers -> iint->mutex
Add configfs to the builtin don't measure/appraise rules, similarly to
other pseudo file systems, so IMA never takes iint->mutex for configfs
file in the first place.

The RISC-V ISA manual specifies that Zfh implies Zfhmin, a normative
rule clarified in
https://github.com/riscv/riscv-isa-manual/pull/3070. Zvfh likewise
implies Zvfhmin, as stated by the vector extension specification.
The kernel currently reports ZFH and ZFHMIN (and ZVFH and ZVFHMIN) as
independent hwprobe bits derived only from what the device tree
declares. Platforms that declare just "zfh" (Zfh being a superset that
already contains all Zfhmin instructions) therefore report
RISCV_HWPROBE_EXT_ZFHMIN=0, which breaks userspace RVA23 conformance
checks (e.g. snapd installing core26 on riscv64).
Use the existing superset mechanism to set the implied subset bits:
- zfh implies zfhmin
- zvfh implies zvfhmin
Add a hwprobe selftest asserting the implication holds and update the
hwprobe documentation accordingly.
This is complementary to the rva23u64 base behavior discussion: the
RVA23 conformance query proposed there is derived from the
per-extension bits fixed here, so correct EXT_0 reporting is a
prerequisite for it to work on harts whose device tree declares only
"zfh".
Tested on a RISC-V QEMU VM whose device tree only declares "zfh" and
"zvfh": with this change both /proc/cpuinfo and the hwprobe
RISCV_HWPROBE_KEY_IMA_EXT_0 bitmap report ZFHMIN and ZVFHMIN, and the
hwprobe selftest (including the new implication check) passes.

The driver has accepted tcs,tcs4526 since commit 5eee5eced95f
("regulator: fan53555: add tcs4526"), which added the compatible to both
the of_device_id and i2c_device_id tables for the TCS4526, a chip that
reports id 0 rather than the TCS4525's id 12.
The binding was converted to DT schema afterwards, in commit 6cea468b680e
("regulator: dt-bindings: Convert Fairchild FAN53555 to DT schema"), and
only picked up tcs,tcs4525. No in-tree DTS used the 4526 string at the
time, so nothing flagged the omission.
RK3399Pro boards use the TCS4526 for vdd_gpu and vdd_cpu_b, so a DTS
describing them fails dtbs_check today even though the driver binds
correctly.

'mark-mask' and 'status-mask' are defined and supported by the
conntrack dump, but missing from the list of arguments.
While at it, the order of the arguments should follow the order of
their definition in the enum ctattr_type. That appears to be a common
convention for other spec files.

The CTA_FILTER doesn't contain nested tuple attributes, instead it
contains bit masks that specify which tuple attributes to filter on.
The values for filtering are taken from the top-level CTA_TUPLE_ORIG
and CTA_TUPLE_REPLY, which are also missing in the attribute list
for the dump request.
The bits themselves somehow are not in the public headers, so not
defining them in the spec either for now. Once they are public in
uAPI, they can be added here with enum-as-flags.

"In this round, key enhancements focus on reducing inode management
memory overhead, introducing resizable tail sections with unified
pinned allocation, and boosting I/O throughput via parallel
multi-device flushes and asynchronous f2fs_write_end_io() execution.
We also add dynamic device alias reservations to allow on-the-fly
space donation from user partitions.
Alongside these features, critical bug fixes resolve folio race

- fix to clear dirty flag on folio in error path
- accurately adjust free_sections during free_segment_range

git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm
Pull more MM updates from Andrew Morton:
- "mm/rmap: index MAP_PRIVATE file-backed folios by anonymous pgoff"
(Lorenzo Stoakes)
Index MAP_PRIVATE file-backed folios by their anonymous page offset
to resolve confusion around reverse mapping for zeroed and CoW'd
file-backed memory.
Use this new VMA anonymous page offset tracking to eliminate index
conflicts and lay the foundation for scalable CoW performance
improvements.
- "promote mapped executable folios after first usage for MGLRU"
(Baolin Wang)
Make MGLRU's protection of mapped executable file folios more
reliable. Follow the classical LRU's logic, promoting mapped
executable file folios after their first usage to give executable
code a better chance to stay in memory and improve workload
performance.
- "mm: vmscan: fix node reclaim ignoring swappiness parameter" (Ridong
Chen)
Fix per-node proactive reclaim interface's ignoring the swappiness
parameter when CONFIG_MEMCG is disabled by consolidating
sc_swappiness() into a single function that checks
proactive_swappiness regardless of kernel configuration.
- "mm/vmscan: reduce lru_lock contention via vmstat-derived
scan-balance cost" (Usama Arif)
Reduce lru_lock contention in the reclaim path by deriving
scan-balance costs from vmstat counters rather than lock-acquired
producer updates.
Read and decay these cost signals on the reclaim side under a
dedicated per-lruvec lock, reducing total LRU lock wait time by over
60% without impacting scan throughput.
- "zram: fix zram issues reported by sashiko" (Sergey Senozhatsky)
Fix two low-risk zram bugs which Sashiko spotted in drive-by review.
- "Honor XA_FLAGS_ACCOUNT in xas_split_alloc() and charge to folio's
memcg" (Zi Yan)
Fix xas_split_alloc() by enabling target folio memcg charging during
splits and adding the missing __GFP_ACCOUNT flag for proper XArray
node memory accounting.
- "selftests/mm: use pattern matching in .gitignore" (Pratyush Mallick)
Replace hardcoded binary names in selftests/mm/.gitignore with a
generic pattern-matching rule to automatically ignore generated test
files and avoid manual updates when adding new tests.
- "mm/page_ext: remove pgdat_page_ext_init()" (Sang-Heon Jeon)
Make the incompatibility between FLATMEM and NUMA explicit in
mm/Kconfig and remove the unused pgdat_page_ext_init() function.
- "zram: fix zstd error paths and add parameter validation" (Haoqin
Huang)
Clean up zram compression backends by removing redundant error
cleanup, adding parameter and dictionary validation, auto-prefixing
algorithm error logs, and resetting parameters prior to
reinitialization.
- "zram: fix stale scan bounds after reinitialization" (Longlong Xia)
Prevent out-of-bounds slot accesses during concurrent zram resets by
moving table scan bound calculations under dev_lock in
writeback_store() and read_block_state().
- "add anon mTHP collapse test cases" (Baolin Wang)
Extend selftests helper functions to support arbitrary page orders
and add new test cases and options for mTHP collapse in khugepaged.
- "selftests/mm: Handle unsupported and transient test conditions"
(Muhammad Usama Anjum)
Update MM selftests to report a SKIP status instead of a failure when
required kernel or filesystem features are unsupported, while adding
retry logic for transient page migration errors.
- "mm/zswap: Fixes and improves the zswap shrink" (Hao Jia)
Fix the missing zswap global shrinker when CONFIG_MEMCG is disabled
and extend shrink_memcg() to support batch writeback for improved
writeback efficiency.
- "alloc_tag: introduce IOCTL-based filtering for MAP" (Suren
Baghdasaryan)
Introduce an IOCTL-based binary interface for memory allocation
profiling that enables kernel-side filtering before per-CPU counter
aggregation.
This eliminates the text-parsing overhead of /proc/allocinfo and
provides up to a 20x speedup by transferring only filtered allocation
data to userspace.
- "better block swap batching and a different take on swap_ops v5"
(Christoph Hellwig)
Refactor block swap I/O to use swap_iocb for batching instead of
single-bio requests and rebase the swap_ops interface, achieving
faster swap throughput during kernel builds.
- "mm: kmemleak: reduce transient false positives by confirming leaks"
(Catalin Marinas)
Reduce false-positive kmemleak reports by combining two kmemleak
enhancements that add a second confirmation scan and a configurable
minimum unreferenced scan count module parameter.
- "mm: kmemleak: default min_unref_scans to 2 for verbose kernels"
(Breno Leitao)
Auto-scanning kernels can generate false-positive memory leak reports
on single scans, so this patch defaults min_unref_scans to 2 when
CONFIG_DEBUG_KMEMLEAK_VERBOSE is enabled to require a second
confirming scan.
- "swap_ops updates" (Christoph Hellwig)
Batching I/O for synchronous swap devices causes performance
regressions and filesystem-based swap suffers from double-indirection
overhead. This series resolves both issues by reintroducing per-folio
writes for synchronous swap and allowing filesystems to directly
export their own swap_ops.
- "mm/khugepaged: several cleanups" (Nico Pache)
khugepaged accumulated redundant state-checking patterns and outdated
comments following mTHP integration. Introduce dedicated helpers for
PTE validation and event counting while refreshing the internal
documentation.
- "maple_tree: lock checking and clean ups" (Liam Howlett)
Syzbot reports incorrectly blame memory management exit paths for
locking bugs, maple tree erase operations risk allocation failures
without gfp flags and internal documentation lacks clarity.
Improve lock error detection, update docs, fix race and allocation
edge cases and optimize erase allocations using a fallback to
GFP_KERNEL | GFP_NOFAIL.

Currently, zoned block devices restrict pinned file allocations to
conventional zones at the beginning of the storage (before
first_seq_zone_segno), triggering range GC when conventional space is
exhausted.
On regular block devices, when preparing for future online filesystem
resizing (e.g. partition shrinking), pinned files must not be allocated
in the tail area that will be truncated, as pinned files cannot be
relocated by GC. Specifying the resizable tail area size (in sections)
allows uniform mount configuration across devices of different storage
capacities.
To support this, introduce a unified `pinned_area_max_secno` boundary
abstraction in `f2fs_sb_info`:
1. Add `-o resizable_tail_secno=%u` mount option to specify the number
of sections at the tail of the filesystem reserved for resizing.
2. In `f2fs_fill_super()`, initialize `sbi->pinned_area_max_secno` as:
min(MAIN_SECS(sbi) - resizable_tail_sec, zoned_max_sec).
3. In `get_new_segment()`, restrict segment allocation for pinned files
(`pinning == true`) to `0 .. sbi->pinned_area_max_secno - 1`. If no
free section is available in the pinned area, return -EAGAIN.
4. In `f2fs_allocate_pinning_section()`, unify the range GC trigger to
run `f2fs_gc_range()` up to `sbi->pinned_area_max_secno` whenever
`sbi->pinned_area_max_secno < MAIN_SECS(sbi)` and allocation
returns -EAGAIN.
5. Expose `/sys/fs/f2fs/<dev>/pinned_area_max_secno` as a read-only
sysfs node.

Pull more ACPI support updates from Rafael Wysocki:
"These update documentation to reflect recent changes in the upstream
ACPICA project, fix issues in the core ACPI device enumeration code
(one of which has been introduced recently), improve the primary
"physical" device lookup for ACPI device objects in that code, and
update ACPI device drivers:
- Update MAINTAINERS, CREDITS and ACPI subsystem documentation to
reflect recent changes in the upstream ACPICA project (Rafael
Wysocki)
- Prevent the core ACPI enumeration code from combining device
resources that overlap completely in order to avoid resource
conflicts during platform device registration because there are
drivers that expect such resources to be present (Rafael Wysocki)
- Defer device power initialization during ACPI-based device
enumeration to the point when the given device is known to be
present and functional and all of its dependencies have been met
(Peixin Xie)
- Fix bus ID cleanup on device_add() failures during ACPI device
object registration (Hongyan Xu)
- Introduce a new helper function for looking up the primary
"physical" device for a given ACPI device object and update the
core ACPI device enumeration code to use that function (Rafael
Wysocki)
- Protect all battery properties with a separated mutex in the ACPI
battery driver to prevent race conditions from occurring and avoid
evaluating the _BST ACPI control method multiple times in parallel
for the same battery device (Rong Zhang)
- Add DMI quirk for the Razer Blade Pro 17 early 2020 lid switch to
the ACPI button driver (Robin Everaars)
- Convert fixed clock rates in the ACPI driver for AMD SoCs (APD) to
use HZ_PER_MHZ and add a clock frequency for the HJMC01 I2C
controller to it (Hongnan Li and Xiangyang Yu)
- Fix a stack buffer overflow in query_capability() in the ACPI
platform firmware runtime update driver (Anirudh Prasad)"

Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd:
"Mostly the usual clk driver updates and new SoC additions plus
non-critical data fixes for things that weren't used yet.
One thing that's new here in the core is SSC spread spectrum support
(SSC) in the clk provider API. The idea is that DT authors will
configure SSC for certain clks and they'll be configured at clk
provider registration time or when a consumer device is probed,
similar to how we handle assigned clk rates or parents.
On the clk driver side we have Qualcomm adding almost half the diff
because they add support for 4 different SoCs and then a long tail of
other SoCs like Mediatek, Renesas, Rockchip, SpaceMiT, etc. add more
SoC support this time around. Luckily it's mostly clk data for these
new SoCs because the actual clk_ops are already there. Beyond the new
drivers we get all the little fixups for more compilation coverage or
usage of more modern APIs. That all looks normal.
Finally, I kinda buried the lede, I'm bringing on Brian and Jerome to
help out with maintaining the clk subsystem. The current working model
is already semi-distributed in that silicon vendors typically take
care of their drivers and send me pull requests but I'm becoming a
bottleneck for new drivers and core framework review because this has
become a 100% volunteer effort on my part.
Mike is stepping down after all these years (thanks Mike!) and that
jump started the conversation around finding co-maintainers. Brian and
Jerome have graciously offered to help me with the work load, meaning
in the future they'll be sending pull requests and committing directly
to the clk.git tree. They've both been around on the list for a while,
I've met them both in person, and they've been making changes to the
core clk framework along with helping review patches so I'm pretty
confident this will work well.
Core:
- devm_clk_bulk_get_enable() consumer API
- devm_clk_hw_register_composite_pdata() provider API
- Spread Spectrum Clock (SSC) support via DT bindings and provider APIs
- Divider clk rounding improved (and tested)
New Drivers:
- Cix Sky1 audio subsystem (AUDSS)
- UltraRISC DP1000
- MediaTek MT8173 MFG_TOP
- Si549
- Aspeed AST2700 PECI
- Airoha EN7523 PCIe
- Rockchip RV1106
- Mobileye EyeQ7H
- Qualcomm Maili GCC, TCSR, RPMh, and video clks
- Qualcomm Shikra GCC, RPM, GPU, display, and audio clks
- Qualcomm Nord display and graphics clks
- Qualcomm Glymur camera and EVA clks
- Qualcomm Hawi video clks
- Amlogic A9 AO and peripheral clks
- Renesas R-Car X5H (R8A78000) CPG"
